The pelvic floor is comprised of muscles, ligaments and fascia that create a support for the inferior pelvis. Other core musculature coactivates with the pelvic muscles in order to give the spine and pelvis stability.

Dysfunction in these support systems can contribute to problems such as pelvic/vulvovaginal/penile/anorectal pain, urinary and gastrointestinal/bowel problems.

Physiotherapy treatment provides you with instruction regarding muscle strengthening, relaxing, coordinating and repatterning which assists in the improvement of your condition. Also, you can learn to correct neuromuscular responses and reflex mechanisms that may have been altered.
